Probably alot of you have made this or heard of it, I have heard of it made with pudding before.
Holley makes this for me, so I asked her how so I can make one for her she loves it.

Bake a yellow cake normally.
Poke holes in it with a fork all over.
One large package of any kind of Jello you like.
Mix with 1.5 cups of hot water and pour over the hot baked cake.
Chill through.
Frost with cool whip, Holley said a 3.0z package of cream cheese brings out a good flavor!

This really does make a delicous cake!

Hey Peg, my mother and aunts use to make this cake
often.
After topping with coolwhip and chilling on the fridge,
(and just when ready to serve) they would add a can
of pie filling, usually a cherry pie filling,
but you can top it off with whatever pie filling you want
(one that goes well with the type of gelatin you are using).
All I can say is, Yum-O!!

This cake sure brings back a lot of childhood
memories.
